Gambles Landed

One of the benefits of becoming an owner is that you receive privileged information about your horse. Centaur Group Racing clients have landed some spectacular gambles.

2008 off to a great start with Rightful Ruler at 4/1 winning easily under Nina Carberry in a Lady Riders hurdle race at Musselburgh. Then on 9th Feb at Warwick Bagan stormed home by 12 lengths at 3/1 to land some hefty bets for the owners. He will now hopefully go to Kempton for the Racing Post Chase before possible runs at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown.

December 2007 and Bagan strolls home at Newbury and is set for an exciting 2008.

In August 2007 Rightful Ruler landed a huge gamble from 10/1 into 7/2 when running out a facile 18 length winner at Cartmel.

In July 2007 Crathorne and Bagan landed a 1-2 for us at Uttoxeter in a novice chase. The win for Crathorne completed his hat-trick over fences. He has now won 9 times for us, twice on the flat, 4 times over hurdles and 3 times over fences.

Bagan has also proved to be a moneyspinner for connections, landing major gambles on each time it has reached the winners enclosure.

In 2004 Owners of one of our cheapest purchases, Alfy Rich, did not have to wait long for a return as trainer, Martin Todhunter, had him ready and primed for his first run in our colours at Hexham on Sunday 20 June. Alfy Rich did not let us down, strolling home having been backed at all rates from 11/4 down to 6/4.

In May 2003 - Overstrand took over £40,000 out of the ring when landing a comfortable win at Perth having been backed in from 7/2 to 2/1 by his very happy owners. He went on to win more races for us over hurdles including the £40,000 William Hill Handicap Hurdle.

On June 1st 2003 a long planned coup was landed at Centaur's Open Day at Worcester Races when Unsigned won the Novice Hurdle having been earmarked for the race since January. Our parent company Centaur sponsored all of the races so it was great to present the prize to our own horse! More importantly the owners made an absolute killing having supported the horse in from 6/1 in to 15/8!!

HOWEVER, THE COUP DE GRACE WAS LANDED IN STYLE AT PERTH ON WEDNESDAY 30 JUNE WHEN BOTH MANOUBI (5/1 INTO 100/30) AND ALFY RICH (3/1 INTO 13/8) STROLLED HOME TO LAND THE OWNERS A FANTASTIC RETURN! THE HORSES WERE HEAVILY BACKED IN BOTH SINGLES AND DOUBLES (AS ADVISED) AND IT WAS A SURPRISE THERE WERE ANY BOOKMAKERS LEFT ON THE SECOND DAY OF THE PERTH MEETING!
